Poem Of The Day

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Written by Lisa DeVinney on April 22, 2017. Posted in poetry

God puts us in a garden,
And plants each flow’r that grows;
Then asks that we would faithfully
Tend to the ones He sows.

Some flow’rs are tall and graceful -
A pleasure to behold.
Some share the sweetest fragrance,
Have colors bright and bold.

Still others can be pungent,
Or have a thorny stem.
But all are His creations;
And we’re to care for them.

They’ll need a little Sonshine;
Some living water, too.
And much attentive weeding
Is what we’re asked to do.

How is your garden growing?
Are all your flow’rs in bloom?
Or for your plot’s improvement
Is there a little room?

“The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden…
Then the LORD God took the man and put him
in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
Genesis 2:8, 15
